What are short-stay surgical procedures?
These include gynecologic interventions performed with minimally invasive techniques, mainly hysteroscopy and laparoscopy, that diagnose and treat different conditions through small incisions or natural body openings, often reducing the need for open abdominal surgery. This is not a routine study but a surgical procedure. It is recommended only when the benefits for your diagnosis or treatment justify it, taking recovery time into account as well.
Who is it indicated for?
May be indicated for endometrial polyps, fibroids, intrauterine adhesions, endometriosis, ovarian cysts or masses, tubal abnormalities, ectopic pregnancy, selected uterine abnormalities, and conditions associated with infertility.
We work, step by step
- 1Pre-surgical assessment and testing
- 2Procedure in the operating room
- 3Monitoring and recovery (usually 2 to 3 hours for hysteroscopy)
- 4Review of findings and reproductive plan

Technology and technique at CEMPI
Operating facilities within the clinical unit itself. Hysteroscopy uses a thin scope introduced vaginally, with no abdominal incisions; laparoscopy uses a camera and instruments through small incisions to assess the uterus, tubes, and ovaries.
