Eggdonation
In vitro fertilization treatment using eggs from a donor, indicated for patients for whom, for some reason, their own eggs cannot be used.
Estimated duration
Embryo development in the laboratory takes 5 to 6 days after the donated eggs are inseminated.
Clinical area
Assessment by your treating physician and the procedure performed by embryologists and andrologists in our laboratory.
Where it is performed
Endometrial preparation is monitored in the consulting room using high-resolution ultrasound equipment. Embryo transfer takes place in an operating room used exclusively for fertility procedures, free of bacteria, fungi, parasites and airborne particles; it is an outpatient procedure of 10 to 15 minutes that generally does not require sedation.
Support
The medical team and PLANEA staff will provide comprehensive, close follow-up throughout your treatment. Our commitment is to guide you through clear, transparent and timely communication.
What is egg donation?
Egg donation is an in vitro fertilization treatment using eggs from a previously screened and selected donor; the resulting embryos are transferred to the recipient after her endometrium has been prepared.
Who is it indicated for?
May be indicated for low or absent ovarian reserve, premature ovarian failure, previous poor-response cycles, or specific genetic conditions. Before starting, we review your medical history and laboratory tests in a counseling session that addresses the medical and emotional questions of the process.
We work, step by step
- 1Endometrial preparation of the patient
- 2Selection of the donated eggs
- 3Fertilization and embryo culture
- 4Embryo transfer
Embryo development in the laboratory takes 5 to 6 days after the donated eggs are inseminated. The endometrial preparation and embryo transfer cycle usually runs over 18 days.
Technology and technique at CEMPI
The transfer is performed under ultrasound guidance in the fertility operating room.
Embryo selection
Embryos are assessed by the laboratory through the analysis of their morphology and developmental characteristics, and graded according to established embryo quality criteria.
