Preimplantationgenetic testing (PGT)
Genetic studies performed on embryos obtained through in vitro fertilization techniques, before their transfer to the uterus, in order to identify chromosomal alterations and to determine sex selection.
Estimated duration
PGT results are available 14 to 21 days after embryo culture, so the transfer is normally deferred to a later cycle.
Where it is performed
Samples are taken at our facilities in Mexico City and processed together with genetic institutions in Mexico and in Europe.
Support
The medical team and PLANEA staff will provide comprehensive, close follow-up throughout your treatment. Our commitment is to guide you through clear, transparent and timely communication.
What are preimplantation genetic testing (PGT)?
Preimplantation genetic testing, known as PGT, refers to studies that allow an embryo to be analyzed genetically before it is transferred to the uterus. These tests can identify certain chromosomal alterations and also reveal the chromosomal sex (XX or XY) of each embryo.
Who is it indicated for?
They may be considered in cases of advanced maternal age, recurrent pregnancy loss, previous implantation failure, or a family history of genetic conditions. Your specialist will assess your particular situation and advise you on when this test can provide useful information for your diagnosis.
We work, step by step
- 1Embryo culture
- 2Sample or culture-medium collection
- 3Genetic analysis
- 4Selection and deferred transfer
PGT results are available 14 to 21 days after embryo culture, so the transfer is normally deferred to a later cycle.
Technology and technique at CEMPI
CEMPI offers both embryo biopsy and culture-medium analysis, depending on the indication in each case.

Cost and financial planning
The cost of your treatment will depend on the indicated procedure and the particular characteristics of your case. At PLANEA, the area specializing in preparing and presenting financial proposals, you will receive clear, transparent information about your treatment investment and the available alternatives.
Your financial advisor will accompany you through this process, helping you understand the different payment options and choose the one that best suits you.
Through CEMPI and PLANEA, we offer financing options over 2, 4, 6 and 9 months*, as well as payment by bank credit cards.

Questions about preimplantation genetic testing (PGT)
Everything starts with an initial consultation: your treating physician reviews your history, tests and goals, and from there defines with you whether preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) is the best option for your case.
